About this event

The Action Team Media Crew is a volunteer multi-media capture cohort that works collaboratively with the Digital Communications Manager and Content Strategist to document and amplify the work of the ACLU of Massachusetts out in the field.

Using a versatile, compact, mobile media toolkit, volunteer media crew members will have a chance to help shape digital narratives that drive forward the mission and work of the ACLU of Massachusetts.

Acting as on-the-ground reporters, narrators and visual storytellers, these volunteers will support the advocacy team’s efforts to reach as many people as possible, with multimedia learning experiences that engage, inspire and educate audiences online and off.

Workshops are designed to include both first-time attendees and those who have attended previous workshops. Those who have attended previous workshops will have an opportunity to deepen their skills. Throughout the year, we will call on the Media Crew to join us at events in-the-field.

Workshops will take place on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

You must RSVP to receive location details.

Additionally, if you are planning on bringing a +1 to the workshop, please note that all attendees, including guests, must RSVP to gain access to the event. Friends are more than welcome to join, but must RSVP beforehand.

Before attending the event, all attendees must fill out an ACLU MA Media Release Form, which grants permission to the ACLU of Massachusetts to document and use photographs, audio, or video recordings for its website, publications, or for other non-commercial use.

Finally, if you are under 18 years old, you must complete a parental consent form with your parent(s)/guardian(s) before attending the event. Without the completed form, you will be unable to attend the event.

Parental consent forms and media release forms will be emailed to all registered attendees before the event.

About this event

On March 5th, a Congressional Oversight Committee has called on Boston Mayor Wu and other mayors to testify in what is expected to be a hostile attack on the Boston Trust Act and immigrants in our cities.

Join the ACLU of Massachusetts, MIRA Coalition, and the Boston City Council to stand up and fight back in a day of action for immigrants' rights and a future where all community members are free from fear and isolation.

We will rally at Boston City Hall Plaza from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. while Mayor Wu testifies in DC before the U.S. congress on immigration policy.
