The Massachusetts House of Representatives and Senate today passed An Act Relative to Transgender Anti-Discrimination (S.2407), which would expand anti-discrimination protections to transgender people in places of public accommodation. The bill now advances to Governor Baker. If the Governor signs it into law, the Commonwealth will become the nineteenth state with full and equal protections for trans residents.

The ACLU of Massachusetts is immensely grateful for the unwavering leadership of Senate President Rosenberg and Speaker DeLeo, along with the bill sponsors and conference committee.
