Carol Rose, executive director of the ACLU of Massachusetts, today released the following statement in response to proposed early voting sites for the Boston preliminary and general elections:
“Our democracy works best when all eligible voters can cast their ballot freely and fairly. Early voting is meant to facilitate this by expanding access to the ballot. By excluding certain Boston neighborhoods, this proposal misses the mark for upcoming city elections. The ACLU of Massachusetts urges the City of Boston to ensure early voting is equitable, inclusive, and accessible for all by including early voting sites in all Boston neighborhoods."
