How to Get Involved

WHO WE ARE

Founded in 1920, the ACLU of Massachusetts is the premier advocate for civil rights and civil liberties in the Commonwealth. As an affiliate of the national ACLU, we work in the courts, the Legislature, and in communities to secure and expand the protections afforded by the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Massachusetts Declaration of Rights.

The ACLU of Massachusetts leads the fight for freedom on several fronts, including free expression, voting rights, reproductive freedom, immigrants’ rights, LGBTQ equality, criminal legal reform, and racial justice. The ACLU is a nonpartisan advocacy organization. No matter who holds power, we hold them to account.
