That's how our deputy legal director Sarah Wunsch opened her remarks at the rally at the Massachusetts State House to celebrate our big nationwide win for marriage equality on June 26, 2015. Sarah explained some of the history that led to this historic victory, and gave thanks. You can watch video of her speech here.
Then, at the rally's end after closing remarks by the Rev. Anne Fowler of the Religious Coalition for the Freedom to Marry, the crowd sang what equality supporters sang at the State House a decade ago to confound opponents who based their objections to marriage equality on religion: “God Bless America.”
