Courtney Spellacy is deputy director and chief development officer at the ACLU of Massachusetts.
Courtney has more than 13 years of diverse organizational and development experiences working with individuals, corporations, financial advisors and foundations.
Courtney joins the ACLU of Massachusetts having been within the ACLU for nearly six years, where she has been director of philanthropy at the ACLU of Arizona and then at the ACLU of Southern California.
She is proud to have been a part of the ACLU's victories in Arizona, against Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his unconstitutional attacks on Latino and immigrant communities, and in Southern California, producing national trendsetting policies on digital security and racial profiling.
Prior to joining the ACLU Courtney spent a decade in Washington D.C. fundraising for several international non-profit organizations. A Minnesota native, Courtney studied International Affairs at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and earned her M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution at American University in Washington, D.C.
