Miz Liberty 2011: "I will not let go of justice"

For this year's Boston Pride parade, the ACLU of Massachusetts held a contest for one supporter to be our "Miz Liberty"--to ride in our VIP car and hold forth as our chosen symbol of justice and equality. Our winner, Caroline McHeffey, sent us this eloquent letter on her time as a canvasser for the ACLU in Boston, and the importance of activism in her life, making her this year's definitive "Miz Liberty".

40 Years of Pride, 90 Years of Protecting Liberty

2010 was the 40th year for Boston Pride -- and the 90th anniversary of the American Civil Liberties Union. We're proud of the whole range of the ACLU's work over the last nine decades, but this week we're especially proud of the ACLU's work for LGBT rights.
